APBUMA lauds government's tax relief on solar panels

The All Pakistan Bed-sheets & Upholstery Manufacturers Association (APBUMA) has recently commended the government's decision to provide tax relief on the import of solar panels and their components. This move is expected to lower electricity costs for consumers across the country. The Central Chairman of APBUMA, Syed Muhammad Ahsan, has stressed the importance of a comprehensive textile policy that spans over a decade to support industrialists in sustaining their businesses successfully.

One of the key concerns raised by Ahsan is the delay in processing refund claims, with approximately Rs.28 billion still pending. He has urged the government to expedite these payments to help alleviate liquidity challenges faced by industrialists and exporters. Ahsan also highlighted the intense competition Pakistani exporters are facing in global markets and emphasized the necessity of providing affordable resources and energy to boost the competitiveness of local products on an international scale.
