ICCI President Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari calls for government support at NADRA Facilitation Centre launch to empower Pakistan's business community.
In a significant move aimed at bolstering the business community in Pakistan, the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) has inaugurated a new National Database Registration Authority (NADRA) Facilitation Centre. This initiative underscores the vital role that the business sector plays in driving the economy forward. The ICCI President, Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari, has been vocal about the need for government support to address the challenges faced by businesses, emphasizing that resolving these issues should be a top priority for the government.
During the launch event, Bakhtawari expressed his unwavering commitment to serving the business fraternity, which he considers his foremost responsibility. He acknowledged the achievements made during his tenure, attributing his success to divine blessings and the collaborative efforts of his team. The establishment of the NADRA Facilitation Centre is a testament to this commitment, as it aims to provide essential services such as Normal CNIC, Urgent CNIC, Family Registration Certificates, and Birth Certificates to the business community.
Bakhtawari extended his gratitude to Lt Gen Muhammad Munir Afsar Malik, the Chairman of NADRA, for his cooperation in setting up the centre. He noted that the swift completion of the facility was made possible due to the chairman's prompt response to his request. This centre is expected to significantly benefit ICCI members and enhance the overall success of the Chamber.
Under Bakhtawari's leadership, the ICCI has emerged as a leading chamber in the country, thanks to the hard work of various committees that have fostered strong linkages with key government departments. The results of these efforts have been remarkable, earning the Chamber widespread recognition. Bakhtawari highlighted that other initiatives, such as the Mediation Council Office, Police Facilitation Centre, and Tax Ombudsman Office, are already operational and providing necessary services to the community.
He also shared his vision for future projects, including a state-of-the-art Expo Centre in the twin cities and an Industrial Estate at Neela Dulla Interchange. Bakhtawari expressed optimism that these projects would soon come to fruition, ultimately benefiting the business community. He reiterated his commitment to continue serving the community even after his tenure, emphasizing the importance of corporate social responsibility.
As the ICCI prepares for the upcoming elections for the 2024-26 term, Bakhtawari urged the business community to support the Founder Group members, highlighting their dedication and service to the Chamber. The Director General of NADRA, Muhammad Faheem Khan, also praised Bakhtawari's efforts in establishing the new facility, reinforcing the collaborative spirit between the ICCI and NADRA.
The launch of the NADRA Facilitation Centre marks a pivotal step towards empowering the business community in Pakistan. By addressing the needs of entrepreneurs and facilitating easier access to essential services, this initiative not only strengthens the business environment but also contributes to the overall economic growth of the country. As the ICCI continues to advocate for the interests of its members, it is clear that a united effort between the government and the business sector is crucial for fostering a thriving economy.
