Charlie Cox reveals thrilling updates on Daredevil: Born Again, promising intense fight scenes and innovative filming techniques for fans.

Charlie Cox, the talented actor known for his role as Daredevil, has recently shared some thrilling insights about the upcoming series "Daredevil: Born Again," which will be available on Disney+. Fans of the original Netflix series are in for a treat, as Cox hinted that the new show will feature some intense fighting scenes reminiscent of the previous episodes.

During his appearance at New York Comic Con, Cox expressed his excitement about the production, stating, "There are different types of oners. So far, we've done three oners that are memorable." A "oner" refers to a single continuous shot in filmmaking, which can be quite challenging to execute. Cox elaborated, saying, "There’s one in episode 2 of season 1, which is a true oner. We shot it until we got it perfect, and there are no cuts in that one shot." This dedication to perfection showcases the commitment of the cast and crew to deliver high-quality content.

He further explained the technical aspects of these scenes, noting, "The camera moves around, films everything, and if anything doesn't work, we do it again. It takes a lot of preparation. You have to dedicate at least a day or two days." This level of preparation is crucial in ensuring that the action sequences are not only visually stunning but also seamless.

In discussing the choreography of the fight scenes, Cox mentioned a technique called "Texas switching." He described how he and his stunt double switch places without cutting the camera, allowing for a fluid transition during action sequences. "There’s literally a moment where I'm kicking someone on the floor, and my foot is in camera, someone yanks me out from behind, and the next foot that comes in was Chris’, my stunt double’s foot. It's really fun. The technicality of it is awesome," he shared. This innovative approach adds a layer of excitement and realism to the show.

Cox also touched on the creative liberties taken in the filming process, stating, "Anyway, we also did a oner in season 2, which is not a true oner. So, it plays like a oner, it looks like the camera continues to move, but every now and again, the camera will swipe something that is completely black." This technique allows for the stitching together of different takes, creating the illusion of a continuous shot. He concluded by teasing fans about a particularly impressive sequence in the new season, saying, "So, we have a very long, very cool stitched one in the new season. I'm not gonna say which episode."

As anticipation builds for "Daredevil: Born Again," it is clear that Charlie Cox and the production team are committed to delivering an exhilarating experience for viewers. The combination of innovative filming techniques and the dedication of the cast promises to bring a fresh yet familiar feel to the beloved superhero series. Fans can look forward to a thrilling ride filled with action, drama, and the signature style that made the original show a hit.
