Gearbox Publishing backs Wabisabi's RKGK, a 3D action platformer blending 90s anime and graffiti culture, set in Cap City. Valah fights B Corp using parkour and graffiti tagging, with a visual style merging AR, VR, and 90s pop culture.

Gearbox Publishing has announced its support for indie studio Wabisabi's latest project, RKGK, a vibrant 3D action platformer set in the futuristic city of Cap City. Players will take on the role of Valah, a graffiti artist fighting against the oppressive B Corp to restore color and life to the metropolis.

RKGK combines elements of 90s anime, 3D platforming, and Mexican graffiti culture, offering a unique gameplay experience. Valah navigates the city using a parkour system, engaging in fast-paced combat and graffiti tagging to make a statement against the establishment.

Wabisabi's CEO, Anwar Noriega, emphasizes the game's roots in Latin American graffiti culture and cyberpunk anime influences. The studio's dedication to these themes is evident in RKGK's visual style, which blends AR and VR aesthetics with nostalgic nods to 90s pop culture.

With support from Riot Games and Gearbox Publishing, Wabisabi aims to bring RKGK to a global audience in 2024. The game's launch on PC via Steam promises to introduce players to a world rich in creativity and cultural significance.

RKGK stands out as a testament to the power of indie developers to create innovative and meaningful gaming experiences. With its bold art style and engaging gameplay mechanics, RKGK is poised to make a splash in the gaming industry and showcase the diverse talents of Latin American developers.
