Shift Up announces Stellar Blade launch details

Stellar Blade, the highly anticipated action-adventure game exclusive to Playstation 5, is set to launch on April 26. Developed by Shift Up, the creators of the popular mobile game Goddess of Victory: Nikke, Stellar Blade follows the story of Eve as she battles against enigmatic invaders in a post-apocalyptic Earth.

Director Kim Hyeong-tae recently revealed in an interview that the game will not feature microtransactions upon its release. Kim emphasized that players will not be required to make any additional purchases beyond the initial package price. However, he did mention the possibility of selling collaboration costumes with other companies' IPs for a fee in the future.

While the launch version of Stellar Blade will not include a New Game+ feature, Kim assured fans that it may be added in future updates. Additionally, Shift Up has no plans for premium DLC initially but has promised free post-launch updates, including new costumes for the protagonist, Eve.

Early previews of Stellar Blade have drawn comparisons to games like Sekiro and Nier: Automata, particularly praising its engaging combat mechanics. Despite the absence of microtransactions in the base game, players can expect a rich gaming experience with the potential for exciting content updates in the future.
