The Anti-Narcotics Force arrests 11 individuals and seizes 63kg of drugs in a significant operation across Pakistan.
In recent years, Pakistan has faced a significant challenge with drug trafficking and substance abuse, particularly among the youth. The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has been at the forefront of combating this issue, conducting operations to apprehend drug dealers and seize illegal substances. On Monday, the ANF reported a major breakthrough in their efforts, having arrested 11 individuals involved in drug trafficking and confiscated over 63 kilograms of various drugs valued at more than Rs 15 million.
The operations spanned across multiple cities, showcasing the ANF's commitment to tackling this pressing problem. In Multan, authorities seized 500 grams of ice from a suspect near a university, highlighting the alarming trend of drug dealers targeting students. Similarly, in Faisalabad, another 500 grams of hashish were recovered from an individual apprehended near Jhang Road. The situation in Sialkot was no different, where 300 grams of hashish and 100 grams of ice were confiscated from a suspect near a university.
These arrests are particularly concerning as the apprehended individuals admitted to supplying drugs to students at educational institutions. This revelation underscores the urgent need for increased awareness and preventive measures to protect the youth from the dangers of drug abuse.
In a separate operation at Islamabad Airport, the ANF seized 360 grams of heroin from a passenger bound for Bahrain, further illustrating the extent of drug trafficking networks operating within the country. Additionally, significant quantities of drugs were intercepted in parcels destined for Australia and Bahrain at courier offices in Lahore and Karachi, with 1530 grams of hashish and 240 grams of heroin being confiscated.
The ANF's operations also led to the discovery of 47 kilograms of opium in Chagai and 5 kilograms of ice from two suspects near Super Highway, Jamshoro. Various other quantities of hashish, heroin, and ice were seized from suspects in different areas, including Sheikhupura Road, Shah Faisal Road in Karachi, and Babu Sabu Toll Plaza in Lahore.
As a result of these operations, cases have been registered against the suspects under the Anti-Narcotics Act, and further investigations are currently underway. The ANF's relentless efforts are crucial in the fight against drug trafficking, but it is equally important for society to come together to educate and protect the youth from the perils of drug abuse.
The recent actions taken by the ANF serve as a reminder of the ongoing battle against drug trafficking in Pakistan. It is imperative for communities, families, and educational institutions to work collaboratively to raise awareness about the dangers of drugs and to support those who may be struggling with addiction. Only through collective efforts can we hope to create a safer and healthier environment for future generations.
