Captain Karnal Sher Khan: 25th Anniversary of Martyrdom Commemorated

Today, we commemorate the 25th anniversary of the martyrdom of Captain Karnal Sher Khan, Nishan-e-Haider, a brave soldier born in district Sawabi of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in 1970. Captain Karnal Sher Khan's valorous actions during the Kargil conflict in 1999 on the Line of Control are etched in history. He defended five strategic posts at an altitude of 17,000 feet in Gultary, displaying exceptional bravery and inflicting heavy losses on the Indian forces.

Tragically, Captain Karnal Sher Khan made the ultimate sacrifice on this day in 1999 while courageously protecting his homeland. In recognition of his gallantry, he was posthumously awarded the Nishan-e-Haider, the highest military decoration in Pakistan.
