Deputy Superintendent Police Ali Raza of the Counter-Terrorism Department was assassinated in Karachi by gunmen. The attackers used a silenced pistol, sparking an investigation into the tragic incident.

An unidentified assailant shot and killed Deputy Superintendent Police (DSP) Ali Raza of the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) in Karachi's Karimabad area. The incident occurred near a residential building, where Ali was targeted by two gunmen. Despite being rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, he succumbed to his injuries. Tragically, a security guard also lost his life in the attack.

The attackers, one wearing an ajrak and the other a helmet, used a silenced 9mm pistol. It was revealed that Ali, a close friend of the late SSP Chaudhry Aslam, often visited the area to meet childhood friends, raising suspicions of a premeditated attack. Police recovered 11 spent bullet casings from the scene.

The assailants fired at Ali as he exited his supposedly bulletproof vehicle. CTD DIG Asif Aijaz Shaikh vowed to apprehend the culprits, emphasizing that all CTD officers face threats. He disclosed that Ali also used a bulletproof vehicle and that two individuals fired 11 shots at him.

While the motives behind the attack remain unclear, a thorough investigation is underway. Senior CTD officers, including Raja Umar Khattab and Mazhar Mashwani, visited the crime scene. Law enforcement agencies cordoned off the area, collecting evidence and launching an inquiry to determine the reasons behind this tragic incident.

The tragic shooting of DSP Ali Raza in Karachi has sent shockwaves through the community. As the investigation continues, authorities are working diligently to bring the perpetrators to justice and ensure the safety of all CTD officers. Our thoughts are with the families of the victims during this difficult time.
