The Divisional Task Force for Polio in Hyderabad, led by Commissioner Ahsan Ali Qureshi, is intensifying efforts to achieve 100% vaccination coverage and address challenges proactively to create a polio-free environment for the children of Hyderabad.

The Divisional Task Force for Polio in Hyderabad, under the leadership of Divisional Commissioner Ahsan Ali Qureshi, recently conducted a meeting at Shahbaz Hall to assess the performance of the previous polio campaign. The focus of the meeting was to ensure continued progress in the fight against polio in the region.

Commissioner Qureshi expressed satisfaction with the results of the previous campaign but stressed the importance of intensifying efforts to guarantee negative polio environmental samples. With the upcoming rainy season in July, the Polio staff was urged to remain vigilant to prevent any setbacks in the ongoing vaccination efforts.

Deputy Commissioner Hyderabad, Zain-ul-Aabdin, shared plans to introduce a mobile application that will streamline the recording of newborn data in all hospitals, both public and private. This innovative tool will also assist in maintaining vaccination and medical records, making it easier for Polio teams to track and administer vaccines. Additionally, the electronic records will enable better guidance for parents regarding their children's vaccinations.

Dr. Jamshed Khanzada, the Focal Person of the Divisional task force, highlighted the detection of positive environmental samples from Tulsi das and Latifabad pumping stations. Special teams have been deployed during Eid-ul-Azha to enhance vaccination coverage and convert these samples to negative. Despite making progress during the Eid-ul-Azha period, the ultimate goal remains achieving 100% vaccination coverage in Hyderabad. The teams are actively addressing missed and refusal cases, particularly during the school vacation period when urban gatherings are common.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Hyderabad Zain-ul-Abdeen Memon, DHO Hyderabad Lala Jaffer, focal person Dr. Jamshed Khanzada, and other relevant officers from different districts who participated via video link.

The Divisional Task Force for Polio in Hyderabad is dedicated to eradicating polio from the region through strategic planning, innovative solutions, and relentless efforts. With a strong commitment to achieving 100% vaccination coverage and addressing challenges proactively, the task force aims to create a polio-free environment for the children of Hyderabad.
