The All Parties Hurriyat Conference commemorates the third martyrdom anniversary of Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai, highlighting his role as a symbol of resistance and urging the continuation of his mission for freedom in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has honored the memory of senior Hurriyat leader, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai, on the occasion of his third martyrdom anniversary in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Sehrai, a prominent figure in the fight against India's illegal occupation, passed away in Indian custody on May 5, 2021, after challenging political injustices in the region for many years.

APHC leaders described Sehrai as a symbol of resistance and a beacon of sacrifice, emphasizing that his life and struggle serve as an inspiration for future generations in Kashmir. They urged the people to uphold Sehrai's principles and continue his mission for freedom.

Posters commemorating Sehrai's martyrdom anniversary have been displayed in Srinagar and other parts of the valley, calling for a strike to express solidarity with the slain leader and other Kashmiri martyrs. The posters highlight the unresolved Kashmir dispute as a major obstacle to peace and stability in the region, urging the United Nations to intervene for a peaceful resolution.

The posters also hold the Indian Hindutva BJP government and its puppet regime in IIOJK accountable for Sehrai's death in custody, condemning their targeting of Kashmiri leaders advocating for freedom. Social media platforms have been used to circulate these messages of remembrance and calls for justice.

Sehrai, who was detained under the Public Safety Act in July 2020 and held in Udhampur Jail, was allegedly subjected to mistreatment and denied proper medical care, leading to his deteriorating health. His sudden demise in custody has raised concerns about the treatment of political prisoners in the region.

The tragic loss of Sehrai, coupled with the earlier martyrdom of his son Junaid Sehrai in 2020, underscores the ongoing struggle of Kashmiris against oppression and occupation, as they continue to demand their right to self-determination.
