MDCAT 2024 in Peshawar sees mobile services suspended and jammers installed to ensure a fair examination process.
The Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) is a crucial examination for aspiring medical and dental students in Pakistan. As the date for the MDCAT 2024 approaches, authorities are taking significant steps to ensure that the examination process remains fair and transparent. One of the most notable measures being implemented is the suspension of mobile phone services near examination centers in Peshawar. This decision is aimed at preventing cheating and maintaining the integrity of the examination.
According to Commissioner Riaz Mehsud, a formal request has been made to the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) to temporarily suspend mobile services for four hours around the exam venues. This action is part of a broader strategy to combat malpractice during the MDCAT. In addition to the suspension of mobile services, jammers will be installed in examination halls to block mobile signals completely. This means that candidates will not be able to use their phones, which is a significant step towards ensuring that no unauthorized communication takes place during the test.
Moreover, to further enhance security, Section 144 will be enforced around the examination centers. This legal measure will prevent unauthorized individuals from loitering near the venues, thereby reducing the risk of external interference. The authorities are determined to create a secure environment for the 19,000 candidates who are expected to appear for the MDCAT across six centers in Peshawar.
In addition to these measures, CCTV cameras will be installed both inside and outside the examination halls. This will not only help in monitoring the situation but also ensure that any suspicious activities are recorded. The presence of surveillance cameras is expected to deter any potential misconduct and promote adherence to the rules.
As the MDCAT 2024 draws near, it is clear that the authorities are committed to upholding the fairness of the testing process. These stringent security measures reflect a growing awareness of the importance of integrity in examinations. For students, this means that they can focus on their studies and perform to the best of their abilities without the fear of unfair competition. Ultimately, the goal is to ensure that the best candidates are selected for medical and dental education, paving the way for a brighter future in healthcare.
