The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Islamabad has raised fees for document attestation, introducing a new fee structure and simplifying the process for Pakistani citizens.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Islamabad has recently announced an increase in fees for attesting legal documents, effective from July 8, 2024. This decision comes as part of the Ministry's efforts to streamline the attestation process for Pakistani citizens.

On Monday, July 8, 2024, the Foreign Office spokesperson confirmed the resumption of attestation services for educational, legal, and commercial documents. Pakistani citizens now have the option to use the MOFA online system or visit the liaison offices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Lahore and Karachi for assistance.

One significant change is the elimination of the requirement for prior appointments for document attestation. The new fee structure includes Rs. 3,000 for general documents, Rs. 4,500 for legal documents, and Rs. 12,000 for commercial documents. It is crucial to remember that document attestation by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is valid for 6 months. Individuals must re-attest their documents if not used within this timeframe to ensure validity.

The Ministry's decision to increase fees and simplify the attestation process aims to provide a more efficient service to Pakistani citizens requiring document attestation. By offering online options and removing appointment requirements, the Ministry is striving to enhance accessibility and convenience for individuals seeking attestation services.
