The 'Clinic-on-Wheels' project in Rawalpindi expands its fleet to 20 vehicles, providing free medical services to underserved communities. Equipped with ultrasound facilities, the initiative aims to reach 600,000 individuals with essential healthcare and health education programs.

The 'Clinic-on-Wheels' project in Rawalpindi is making significant strides in providing free medical services to residents in need. Initially launched with seven vehicles, the project has now expanded its fleet to 20, aiming to reach urban areas with a high population of low-income and middle-class families. This initiative, part of the Chief Minister Initiative Programme's first phase, has already benefited 200,000 individuals out of the targeted 600,000, offering essential medical assistance such as tests, check-ups, and medication distribution.

One of the primary objectives of the project is to address the limited healthcare facilities in government dispensaries managed by the District Health Authority. By deploying mobile clinics, the Clinic-on-Wheels project fills this gap effectively. With 15 vehicles now serving Rawalpindi and an additional five allocated to Murree, the project's reach and impact continue to grow.

Under the leadership of District Health Officer Dr. Naveed Malik, Monitoring and Evaluation Officer Junaid Ahmed, and Team Leader Arsalan, the project has set up 20 camps across various urban union councils of Rawalpindi. These camps offer a wide range of services, including tests, family planning consultations, check-ups for pregnant women, blood screenings, and more. Notably, four vehicles are equipped with ultrasound facilities to enhance diagnostic capabilities.

Each Clinic-on-Wheels unit is equipped with a dedicated team comprising a doctor, a lady doctor, a nurse, a vaccinator, a dispenser, and a team leader. These mobile clinics also conduct screenings for children and provide valuable family planning awareness programs. Dr. Malik emphasized the project's overarching goal of reaching 600,000 individuals with free medical services and health education to promote healthier lifestyles and prevent diseases.

The expansion of the 'Clinic-on-Wheels' project in Rawalpindi signifies a crucial step towards improving healthcare access for underserved communities. By bringing essential medical services directly to residents' doorsteps, this initiative not only addresses existing gaps in healthcare facilities but also empowers individuals to prioritize their well-being. With a dedicated team and a clear mission, the project continues to make a positive impact on the lives of thousands in Rawalpindi and beyond.
