RDA cracks down on unauthorized commercial buildings in Rawalpindi

The Enforcement Squad of Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) recently took action against 11 unauthorized commercial buildings/properties situated at Caltex Road. This operation, led by RDA's Director General Kinza Murtaza, aimed to address violations of approved plans and maps.

The properties sealed included seven shops, two warehouses, and two restaurants. The enforcement team, supported by Morgah Police, conducted the operation to enforce compliance with regulations.

The owners of the sealed properties, such as Ch. Akram, Mr. Osama, and others, were found guilty of breaching the Punjab Development of Cities Act 1976 and RDA Building and Zoning Regulations 2021 by constructing unauthorized commercial buildings without necessary approvals or NOCs.

In response, the DG of RDA has directed the Land Use & Building Control Wing to take strict actions against encroachments and unauthorized constructions. The Building Control Wing will assess fees and charges to regularize illegal structures within RDA's jurisdiction.

RDA emphasizes the importance of public cooperation in eliminating encroachments to maintain the city's development integrity.
