SABS University successfully conducted the entry test for 2024-2025, attracting 250 candidates for its diverse art programs in Jamshoro.
HYDERABAD - The Entry Test for admissions for the academic year 2024-2025 at Shaheed Allah Buksh Soomro (SABS) University of Art, Design and Heritages in Jamshoro was successfully conducted at the university campus. This event attracted candidates from various regions of Pakistan, including Sindh, Punjab, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Azad Jammu Kashmir, showcasing the university's appeal across the nation.
With a total of 200 seats available, the admissions process is designed to accommodate students through merit, self-finance, university support programs, and foreign quotas. Notably, the university has reserved a 50% quota for candidates from Sindh and the remaining 50% for applicants from other parts of the country. This approach aims to ensure a fair and inclusive admission process.
SABS University offers a diverse range of programs across six departments: Fine Art, Architecture and Planning, Communication, Textile, Fashion, and Interior Design. This variety allows students to explore their creative passions and develop skills in their chosen fields. During the recent entry test, a total of 250 candidates participated, comprising 217 female and 33 male students, reflecting a strong interest in the arts and design disciplines.
Vice-Chancellor of SABS University, Prof. Dr. Arabella Bhutto, along with the vigilance committee, visited the campus during the entry test to oversee the proceedings. In her address at the welcome ceremony, she expressed her delight in welcoming the students to this prestigious institution, which is recognized as the first-ever art university in Pakistan. Prof. Dr. Bhutto emphasized the university's commitment to providing quality education in art, design, and heritage.
Looking ahead, SABS University is also planning to introduce short courses alongside its existing programs. This initiative aims to incorporate modern educational fields such as Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence, ensuring that students are well-equipped for the evolving job market.
