City Traffic Police announces a comprehensive traffic management plan for the annual Raiwind Tablighi Ijtema to ensure safety and smooth movement.

Every year, the annual Tablighi Ijtema at Raiwind attracts thousands of participants from across the country and beyond. This significant religious gathering, which focuses on spiritual development and community building, requires meticulous planning, especially when it comes to managing traffic. As the event approaches, the City Traffic Police (CTP) in Lahore have announced a comprehensive traffic management plan to ensure smooth movement and safety for all attendees.

The first phase of the Tablighi Ijtema is set to take place from October 31 to November 3, followed by the second phase from November 7 to November 10. Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Lahore, Amara Athar, has confirmed that extensive arrangements have been made to facilitate the influx of participants. Under the supervision of Superintendent of Police (SP) Sadr Shahzad Khan, a dedicated team comprising 13 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs), 203 traffic inspectors, 110 patrolling officers, and 999 traffic wardens will be deployed to manage the event effectively.

To address potential vehicle breakdowns and improper parking, ten fork lifters have been assigned to assist in these situations. Additionally, a special control room and camp office have been established in Raiwind for real-time monitoring and surveillance. The authorities have designated seven parking stands specifically for the vehicles of participants, emphasizing that parking is strictly prohibited outside these designated areas.

In an effort to keep the public informed, the CTO has introduced 'Rasta FM' and the 'Rasta app', which will provide updates on traffic conditions and any changes in real-time. It is crucial that all roads remain clear for ambulances and emergency vehicles, ensuring that help can reach those in need without delay. Amara Athar has also instructed traffic wardens to remain vigilant for any suspicious individuals or abandoned items, prioritizing the safety of all attendees.

For those traveling to the Ijtema, specific routes have been outlined. Participants arriving from GT Road will be directed to Niaz Baig via the Kala Shah Kaku Interchange on the Motorway. Those coming from Rawalpindi and Islamabad will also be guided to Niaz Baig Raiwind via the Motorway. Meanwhile, participants from Okara can reach Raiwind through the Manga Bypass, and those from Kasur will have access to designated parking lots at various locations, including Nisar Mills and Burhan Chowk.

Vehicles approaching from Bhatti Chowk will be redirected via Burhan Chowk to Bara Oil Mills Chowk, with parking available opposite the Agriculture Office. Importantly, Khawas Road and Sunder Road will remain clear for emergency vehicles, ensuring that they can navigate through the area without obstruction. The CTO has made it clear that no vehicles will be allowed to enter Raiwind from Shahdara Chowk or Sagian Bridge, and participants from other provinces are advised to utilize the Motorway and Lahore Ring Road for their journey.

As the Tablighi Ijtema draws near, the traffic management plan put forth by the City Traffic Police is a testament to the importance of safety and organization during such large-scale events. By adhering to the designated routes and parking regulations, participants can contribute to a smoother experience for everyone involved. It is essential for attendees to remain patient and cooperative, as these measures are in place to ensure that the spiritual gathering can proceed without any disruptions. Ultimately, the success of the Ijtema relies not only on the efforts of the authorities but also on the understanding and cooperation of all participants.
