The situation in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) has been a topic of grave concern for many years. The region has witnessed numerous human rights violations, leading to unrest and suffering among its people. Recently, leaders from Azad Jammu Kashmir (AJK) have voiced their apprehensions regarding the escalating human rights abuses in IIOJK, emphasizing the need for international attention and intervention.

On a recent occasion, Shah Ghulam Qadir, the President of the Pakistan Muslim League (N) AJK chapter and former Speaker of the AJK Legislative Assembly, met with Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry, the President of Azad Jammu Kashmir. This meeting took place at the Jammu Kashmir House in the federal capital. The discussions were centered around various issues of mutual interest, with a significant focus on the alarming human rights situation in IIOJK.

During their meeting, both leaders expressed their deep concern over the increasing violations of human rights in the region. They called upon the international community to take a more active role in addressing the Kashmir dispute, which has been a longstanding source of conflict and violence. The leaders highlighted that the resolution of this issue is crucial for restoring peace and stability in the region.

Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry emphasized the importance of unity among all political parties in AJK. He urged them to come together and collectively expose what he described as “India's ugly face” to the world. This call for unity reflects a growing sentiment among AJK leaders that a united front is essential to advocate for the rights of the people in IIOJK.

In attendance at the meeting were former Minister Raja Yasin and former Member of the Kashmir Council, Sardar Naseem Sarfaraz, who also shared their insights on the pressing issues at hand. Their presence underscored the collective responsibility felt by AJK leaders to address the plight of their Kashmiri brethren.

As the situation in IIOJK continues to deteriorate, it is imperative for the global community to recognize the urgency of the matter. The voices of leaders from AJK serve as a reminder that the struggle for human rights and justice in Kashmir is far from over. It is a call to action for all of us to remain informed and engaged, advocating for a peaceful resolution that respects the rights and dignity of the people in the region.
