An Anti-Terrorism Court in Islamabad has granted a 3-day physical remand for 11 PTI workers arrested for participating in a rally demanding the release of Imran Khan. The rally, held in Bahria Enclave, Islamabad, led to the arrest of Shoaib Shaheen, Amir Mughal, and Alamgir Khan. The workers faced charges under FIR 246 registered at P.S. Banigala.

During the court proceedings, the defense argued that the rally footage did not show any violent behavior by the workers. The judge questioned the necessity of a 7-day remand for recovery purposes, expressing dissatisfaction with the investigation officer's explanation. The court stressed that physical remand should not be granted solely for recovery purposes.

The prosecution requested remand for both recovery and further investigations, while the defense contended that the FIR was fabricated, asserting that there was no clash between the protestors and the police during the rally. They highlighted the citizens' rights to freedom of expression and assembly as per the constitution.

Following discussions, Shoaib Shaheen, Amir Mughal, and Alamgir Khan were granted interim pre-arrest bail, whereas the remaining 11 protestors were placed on a 3-day physical remand. The judge emphasized the importance of adhering to the law and ensuring proper legal procedures in such cases.

It is crucial to uphold the principles of justice and due process in legal matters. The incident involving the arrest of PTI workers underscores the significance of respecting the rights of individuals while maintaining law and order. As the legal proceedings continue, it is essential for all parties involved to cooperate and ensure a fair and transparent resolution.
