Brandon King leads West Indies to victory over South Africa

The West Indies cricket team secured a convincing 28-run victory over South Africa in the first Twenty 20 international match held in Kingston. Brandon King, leading the team in the absence of regular captain Rovman Powell, played a stellar innings scoring 79 runs off 45 balls, which included six sixes and six boundaries.

Despite a strong performance from South Africa's Reeza Hendricks, who scored a half-century, the Proteas struggled in their chase, managing only 147 runs before being bowled out. The early dismissal of Quinton de Kock for just four runs set the tone for a challenging innings for the visitors.

West Indies' bowlers, Gudakesh Motie and Matthew Forde, were instrumental in restricting South Africa's batting lineup. Motie claimed 3 wickets for 25 runs, while Forde, in only his second T20 international appearance, took 3 wickets for 27 runs, including crucial dismissals of de Kock and Hendricks.
