Bethesda's Starfield Update and Expansion Excite Players

Starfield, the popular space game by Bethesda, is gearing up for a major update in May that promises to enhance the gaming experience for players. The update, currently in Steam Beta, is scheduled to go live for all players on May 15. One of the most anticipated additions is the introduction of detailed surface maps, a feature that has been heavily requested by the community since the game's release in September last year. Bethesda has responded to player feedback by improving the surface maps, ensuring that players will no longer get lost while exploring the vast universe of Starfield.

Aside from the enhanced maps, the update also includes new difficulty options, ship decoration for the interior of ships, and added display settings for Xbox Series X to prioritize Visuals or Performance. Xbox Series X users will now have the option to run Starfield at 60 frames per second, providing a smoother gaming experience. This update comes after Bethesda's decision to lock the game at 30fps on both Xbox Series X and S last year to maintain performance consistency.

In response to player requests for more control over graphic fidelity and performance on Xbox, Bethesda has introduced customizable options for Xbox Series X users, allowing them to tailor their gaming experience to their preferences. Todd Howard, Bethesda's development chief, also revealed that the highly anticipated Shattered Space expansion for Starfield is set to launch this fall, potentially in September. This expansion comes one year after the game's initial release, marking a significant milestone for Bethesda's first new intellectual property in years.
