Seven leading companies in the field of AI training data have joined forces to establish the Dataset Providers Alliance (DPA), marking a significant milestone in the industry. The DPA comprises prominent members such as Rightsify, a U.S.-based music dataset provider, vAIsual, a service specializing in image licensing, Pixta, a Japanese stock photo platform, and Datarade, a data marketplace headquartered in Germany. The proliferation of generative AI technologies has raised concerns within the creative community, leading to copyright disputes with major tech companies like Google, Meta, and OpenAI.

One of the key issues addressed by the DPA is the unauthorized use of content for AI model training, often without proper consent from creators or rights holders. To combat this challenge, organizations like Fairly Trained and now the DPA are actively working to establish and enforce ethical guidelines within the industry.
