Exascend introduces the AS500 series NVMe BGA SSD tailored for automotive use, featuring rugged design, reliability, and high performance for modern vehicle applications.

Exascend, a prominent provider of advanced storage and memory solutions, has unveiled the AS500 series NVMe Ball Grid Array solid-state drive (BGA SSD) tailored for the specific data storage requirements of modern connected and autonomous vehicles.

The AS500 BGA SSD is designed to endure harsh automotive conditions, making it an ideal choice for applications such as autonomous driving, infotainment systems, digital cockpits, and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). It features ruggedized attributes like a wide operating temperature range of -40°C to +105°C, shock and vibration resistance, and Exascend's proprietary Adaptive Thermal Control™ algorithm for efficient temperature management.

Undergoing AEC-Q100 Grade 2 qualification, the AS500 guarantees reliability that aligns with stringent automotive standards. By utilizing Host Memory Buffer (HMB) technology, this DRAM-less drive enhances I/O performance while consuming less than 3.5W of power, leading to substantial energy conservation.

The AS500 supports up to four virtual machines through SR-IOV technology, boosting performance for various in-vehicle applications. Its PCIe Gen4 interface and NVMe 1.4 protocol deliver impressive sequential read/write speeds of up to 5000/1600 MB/s and random 4K read/write speeds of up to 380K/180K IOPS in HMB mode.

Available in capacities up to 1TB, the AS500 is optimized for automotive use cases such as in-vehicle infotainment, navigation, digital cockpit, black box, and ADAS. Exascend will be showcasing the AS500 BGA SSD at the upcoming ADAS & Autonomous Vehicle Technology Expo in Stuttgart, Germany.
