Hyundai Motor launches 'Cities in Motion', a series exploring urban sustainability and eco-friendly solutions in major cities worldwide.
In recent years, urban sustainability has become a pressing issue as cities around the world grapple with environmental challenges. With urban areas covering only 2 percent of the earth's surface, they are responsible for a staggering 70 percent of greenhouse gas emissions, 80 percent of energy consumption, and over half of the world's waste. Recognizing the urgent need for solutions, Hyundai Motor Company has launched an original digital series titled "Cities in Motion". This series aims to explore how various cities are addressing these challenges and promoting sustainable practices.
The series features four episodes, each focusing on a different city: London, Frankfurt, Jakarta, and Los Angeles. By showcasing innovative initiatives, Hyundai Motor highlights the importance of sustainable mobility and the role it plays in creating a better future for our planet. The series is available for viewing on the Hyundai Worldwide YouTube channel, making it accessible to a global audience.
Hyundai Motor collaborated with sustainability broadcaster James Stewart and the organization Voice for Nature, founded by David de Rothschild, to embark on this enlightening journey. Driving their electric vehicles, the Hyundai IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 6, they explored how these cities are implementing eco-friendly solutions. "We are proud to spotlight global environmental initiatives and demonstrate Hyundai Motor's commitment to a sustainable future for both humans and the planet," stated Sungwon Jee, Senior Vice President and Global Chief Marketing Officer of Hyundai Motor Company.
The "Cities in Motion" series not only provides an insightful look into the sustainable transformations occurring in these urban areas but also inspires viewers to consider how similar initiatives can be adopted worldwide. For instance, in London, efforts are underway to expand urban green spaces, engaging children in tree planting activities. Such initiatives not only enhance the environment but also foster a sense of community and responsibility among the younger generation.
As we navigate the complexities of urban living, it is crucial to recognize the impact of our choices on the environment. The "Cities in Motion" series serves as a reminder that sustainable practices are not just necessary but achievable. By learning from the experiences of cities around the globe, we can all contribute to a healthier planet. The journey towards sustainability is a collective effort, and every small action counts. Let us embrace these changes and work together for a brighter, greener future.
