Lieutenant General Al Yahya explores Neom's advanced technology

Neom, a futuristic city under development in Saudi Arabia, has introduced state-of-the-art technology at its airport to allow travelers to pass through e-Gates without the need for manual interaction. This cutting-edge system offers a smooth and hands-free experience for international visitors by using biometric scanners and high-resolution cameras to capture their biometric data.

Lieutenant General Sulaiman bin Abdulaziz Al Yahya, Director General of Passports, recently visited Neom to explore its advanced facilities, including Neom Bay Airport and the project's command-and-control center. During his tour, he learned about the latest technologies being implemented, such as the upcoming contactless eGates for passport control at Neom Bay Airport.

Neom is working in collaboration with Jawazat, the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), and the National Information Center to develop an automated border control system that is currently in the testing phase. This system aims to enhance the overall travel experience and promote knowledge sharing between Neom and Jawazat.

Jawazat, a key service provider at airports in Saudi Arabia, has been invited to observe the progress at Neom and participate in the partnership to enhance services for travelers using the airport.

The introduction of contactless airport technology at Neom marks a significant step towards enhancing travel experiences and streamlining border control processes. By leveraging advanced biometric technology and automation, Neom is setting a new standard for airport efficiency and passenger convenience, ultimately benefiting travelers and contributing to the evolution of smart cities.
