Sony and Discord Enhance PS5 Gaming Experience

Sony has unveiled an exciting update for PS5 users, making it easier for them to connect with friends and fellow gamers through Discord. Previously, players had to go through the hassle of transferring calls from their mobile devices or computers to their PS5 using the Discord app. With this new update, joining Discord calls is now a seamless experience directly on the console.

The rollout of this update will be done gradually over the next few weeks, starting with PS5 owners in Japan and Asia. Subsequently, users in Europe, Australia/New Zealand, the Middle East, and the Americas will receive the update in a phased manner.

In addition to the PS5 integration, Discord has also teamed up with Microsoft to bring Discord to Xbox gaming hardware. This collaboration, which commenced in 2022, expanded in August 2023 to enable Xbox users to stream games directly to Discord.
