Truecaller unveils Auto-Block Spam feature for iPhone users, automatically declining spam calls for Premium subscribers.
In today's fast-paced digital world, unwanted calls from telemarketers and scammers have become a common nuisance. Many smartphone users find themselves bombarded with spam calls, which can be both annoying and time-consuming. To combat this issue, Truecaller, a well-known service specializing in caller identification, has introduced a new feature called “Auto-Block Spam” for iPhones running on iOS 18. This innovative feature aims to simplify the process of blocking unwanted calls, providing users with a more seamless experience.
The “Auto-Block Spam” feature is designed specifically for Truecaller Premium subscribers. According to the Truecaller App Store preview page, it states, “Introducing Auto-block spam: Truecaller can now automatically decline all spam calls for you. Available for Premium users.” This means that once a spam call is identified by Truecaller, the app will automatically decline the call without the user needing to lift a finger. This is a significant improvement, especially for those who receive numerous spam calls daily.
Currently, the Auto-Block Spam functionality is also available on Android devices, but its introduction to iOS 18 marks a significant step for iPhone users. When a spam call is blocked, it will not ring, and the call will be logged as either “Fraud” or “Scammer.” This feature is enabled through the “Protect” option, which automatically rejects any incoming fraudulent calls. Users can choose to block either “Top Spammers” or “All Spammers,” allowing Truecaller to effectively filter out unwanted calls.
For those who are not yet familiar with Truecaller, it is a popular app that helps users identify unknown callers and block unwanted calls. The premium subscription offers several benefits, including prioritized customer support, an ad-free experience, and Live Caller ID functionality on iOS. However, it is important to note that the Auto-Block Spam feature is exclusively available to Truecaller Premium subscribers using the latest version 13.12 from the Apple Store.
Earlier this year, Truecaller also launched the “AI Call Scanner” feature for its Android application. This feature is designed to detect spam calls that use AI-generated or cloned voices, providing users with warnings about potential scams. This advancement highlights Truecaller’s commitment to enhancing user security and ensuring a safer calling experience.
The introduction of the Auto-Block Spam feature for iPhone users is a welcome development in the ongoing battle against spam calls. With this feature, users can enjoy a more peaceful phone experience, free from the constant interruptions of unwanted calls. As technology continues to evolve, it is reassuring to see companies like Truecaller taking proactive steps to protect their users from the ever-growing threat of spam and fraud. For iPhone users, spam calls may soon become a thing of the past, allowing them to focus on what truly matters.
