The Pakistan Meteorological Department forecasts relief for Karachi with possible rain and cooler temperatures. Stay updated for monsoon season updates and precautions.

In a welcome relief for the heat-weary residents of Karachi, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has announced the possibility of light rain in the coastal areas of the city today. This news comes after a recent heatwave in Karachi, which sadly resulted in 49 deaths, as confirmed by the Sindh Health Department.

The PMD has forecasted that monsoon rains are expected to reach eastern Sindh starting tomorrow evening. Heavy rainfall is anticipated in Umarkot, Tharparkar, Sanghar, Mirpurkhas, and Jacobabad on July 6 and 7. The weather outlook for Karachi indicates hot and humid conditions for the next three days, with temperatures ranging between 34°C and 36°C. Currently, a sea breeze with wind speeds of 12 to 14 kilometers per hour is blowing in the city, with the lowest temperature recorded in the past 24 hours at 30.5°C.

Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfaraz has mentioned that rain is expected in Karachi after July 8, aligning with the PMD's forecast of intense monsoon activity in the northern and central regions. This activity is attributed to strong monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal.

As Karachi prepares for the possibility of rain and cooler temperatures, residents are advised to stay updated with the latest weather forecasts and take necessary precautions. The upcoming monsoon season brings hope for relief from the scorching heat and a much-needed respite for the city.
