Fortune's Most Powerful Women Asia 2024 list highlights 100 influential female leaders reshaping industries and inspiring future generations.
In a significant recognition of female leadership, Fortune has unveiled its Most Powerful Women Asia 2024 list, highlighting the achievements of 100 remarkable women across various sectors. This list is a testament to the growing influence of women in Asia, a region that is rapidly evolving and becoming a powerhouse in the global economy. At the top of the list is Grace Wang, the Chairwoman and CEO of Luxshare Precision Industry. Under her leadership, Luxshare has become a crucial supplier for Apple, contributing to the production of popular products like AirPods, Apple Watches, and iPhones. Wang's strategic vision has led to significant expansions, including the acquisition of an iPhone plant and a substantial investment in a facility in Vietnam. This year, Luxshare made its debut on the Fortune Global 500, ranking at No. 488 with an impressive revenue of $32.8 billion.
Following Wang are other influential leaders such as Helen Wong, CEO of Oversea-Chinese Banking Corporation Group, and Makiko Ono, President and CEO of Suntory Beverage and Food. The list features a diverse group of women, including 53 CEOs, 26 Chairpersons, and 11 Chief Financial Officers. Notably, over ten percent of these women are entrepreneurs who have founded their own businesses, showcasing the entrepreneurial spirit that is thriving in Asia.
The rankings also reflect the geographical diversity of female leadership in the region. Among the 100 women, 31 hail from China, including Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan, while 14 are from Thailand. Other countries represented include Japan, Singapore, India, South Korea, the Philippines, Australia, Malaysia, Vietnam, and Indonesia.
