Qatar reaffirms commitment to aid Pakistan in climate-vulnerable areas. High-level technical delegation discusses cooperation in climate risk management and environmental conservation.

Qatar has reaffirmed its commitment to aiding Pakistan in climate-vulnerable areas such as health, education, food security, water, and energy. This assurance came following a meeting between a high-level technical delegation from Qatar and Pakistan's Prime Minister’s Coordinator on Climate Change in Islamabad. The discussions centered on cooperation in climate risk management, environment conservation, water management, energy, forest, and disaster risk management.

The Qatari delegation has pledged to provide both technical and non-technical assistance to Pakistan in tackling climate change challenges. They have shown their dedication to supporting Pakistan in environmental conservation, national disaster risk management, and flood protection endeavors. The delegation briefed the Prime Minister’s Coordinator on ongoing projects aimed at helping Pakistan adapt to climate change.

The Prime Minister’s Coordinator updated the delegation on the government's plans to bolster climate resilience and protect the lives and livelihoods of vulnerable communities in Pakistan. She emphasized the significant impacts of climate change on various sectors of the economy, including heatwaves and devastating floods during the monsoon season.

Colonel Ahmed Abdullah Al-Abdullah, the leader of the Qatari delegation, praised the government's initiatives in environmental conservation, climate risk management, and disaster readiness. Romina Khurshid Alam expressed appreciation to the Qatari delegation for their assistance in addressing climate change and achieving environmental conservation goals.

The collaboration between Qatar and Pakistan in combating climate change and enhancing environmental sustainability is a crucial step towards building a more resilient future for both nations.
