Chandan Soni Exposes Identity Theft and Financial Fraud

A recent incident involving Chandan Soni from Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, has brought to light a case of identity theft and financial fraud. Soni discovered that his PAN card and Aadhaar card details were misused by unknown individuals to create a fake GST number for a company named MG SALES, falsely claiming a substantial annual turnover.

On July 20, 2022, while filing his Income Tax Return, Soni uncovered the fraudulent activity. The company was registered in his name at an address in Gautam Puri, Shahdara, despite his lack of association with the firm or residence at that location.

The fabricated turnover of Rs. 9,10,58,119 for the year 2021-22, along with backdated GST registration and Aadhaar authentication, raised serious concerns about potential financial crimes beyond the established fake GST number.

Chandan Soni has taken legal action by filing a complaint with the Economic Offences Wing of the Delhi Police, resulting in the registration of an FIR under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code. Furthermore, the Thatipur police station in Gwalior has initiated a Zero FIR to address the matter comprehensively.

In light of this incident, it is crucial for individuals to safeguard their personal identification documents and remain vigilant against unauthorized use.
