According to a stock filing made by the company, this development is a continuation of their earlier announcement dated July 23, 2024, where they discussed the toll manufacturing of Electric Vehicles, specifically the Honri EV. The notice sent to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) stated, “In continuation of our earlier letter dated July 23, 2024, in which we had mentioned toll manufacturing of Electric Vehicles Honri EV by the Company. Now, Al-Hamdullilah, Dewan Farooque Motors Limited is successfully assembling the said vehicles under toll manufacturing and the first lot of Electric Vehicles has been dispatched to the Eco-Green Motors Limited.”

This move is not just about producing vehicles; it is part of a larger strategy by Dewan Farooque Motors to lead the charge in automotive technology and promote sustainable transportation solutions in Pakistan. The company entered into a toll manufacturing agreement with Eco-Green Motors on May 30, 2024, to manufacture the Horn-EV, which comes in two ranges: 200KM and 300KM. This agreement positions Dewan Farooque Motors as a key player in the electric vehicle sector in Pakistan.

In September, the company officially began production of electric vehicles at its assembly plant, further solidifying its role in the evolving automotive landscape. Established in 1998, Dewan Farooque Motors is part of the Yousuf Dewan Group and has previously collaborated with renowned brands like Hyundai and KIA to assemble, manufacture, and sell vehicles in Pakistan.

The introduction of electric vehicles like the Honri EV is a promising development for the automotive industry in Pakistan. As the world shifts towards greener alternatives, local manufacturers are stepping up to meet the demand for sustainable transportation. This not only helps in reducing carbon emissions but also paves the way for a more environmentally friendly future.

The successful dispatch of the first lot of Honri EVs is a testament to Dewan Farooque Motors’ dedication to innovation and sustainability. As the company continues to expand its electric vehicle offerings, it is setting a precedent for others in the industry. The future of transportation in Pakistan looks bright, and with companies like Dewan Farooque Motors leading the way, the shift towards electric vehicles is not just a possibility but an exciting reality.
