FII8's third day concludes with $70 billion in deals, focusing on sustainable investments and health initiatives.

The Future Investment Initiative (FII) Institute recently concluded the third day of its 8th annual gathering in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This event, known as "Investment Day," focused on the theme "Infinite Horizons: Investing Today, Shaping Tomorrow." It brought together leaders, investors, and innovators to discuss how to make impactful investments in emerging markets and promote sustainable growth strategies. The discussions aimed to shape the future of global finance and economic development.

During the event, H.E. Faisal F. Alibrahim, the Minister of Economy & Planning for Saudi Arabia, delivered opening remarks that highlighted the importance of investment in the country's economic transformation under Vision 2030. He emphasized that non-oil growth is crucial for diversifying the economy and ensuring a sustainable future.

A panel discussion featuring prominent figures such as H.E. Mohammed El-Kuwaiz, Chairman of the Capital Market Authority, and Rishi Kapoor, Vice Chairman & CIO of Investcorp, shared key insights on alternative asset growth in emerging markets. They discussed trends that are driving investments in these regions, which are expected to lead the next phase of economic growth.

Another significant session was the Capital Allocators Roundtable, where influential leaders gathered to discuss the projected impact of alternative assets in 2024. This roundtable included institutional investors and thought leaders who shared their insights on how alternative investments are becoming essential in navigating economic uncertainties.

The event also focused on venture capital hotspots, particularly in Saudi Arabia, where innovation funding is evolving rapidly. This session highlighted the potential of emerging markets to become catalysts for disruption in various industries.

In a bid to promote health and well-being, the FII Institute launched the Healthy Humanity Initiative. This initiative invites over 100 corporations and health insurance companies to provide free preventive health checkups for citizens every two years and offer significant discounts on health bills. The initiative has already received support from various organizations, including Saudi Health in All Policies and Moderna.

Additionally, the FII Institute presented findings from the Healthy Longevity Compass, which surveyed 22,600 respondents across 21 countries. The study revealed that while 70% of individuals aspire to adopt healthier living habits, 43% in developing countries are dissatisfied with their access to nutritious food.

Day 3 of the FII8 conference also showcased five innovative start-up companies that presented their cutting-edge technology solutions aimed at addressing global challenges in areas such as artificial intelligence, sustainability, and health. Among these innovators, Sakuu was crowned the FII8 Innovator 2024, receiving complimentary membership and access to the FII Venture Program, which is designed to accelerate their growth.

In closing remarks, H.H. Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia, emphasized the importance of global citizenship in addressing pressing issues like climate change and economic disparities. He highlighted that collaboration across nations is vital for creating a better future.

Throughout the four days of the FII8 conference, over 30 announcements worth $70 billion were made, focusing on sustainable development and innovative solutions for humanity. The event underscored a united front for positive change, with leaders and innovators echoing the sentiment that the future is not just a vision; it is a movement we are all part of. The FII Institute remains committed to connecting capital with impactful initiatives, further strengthening the global investment landscape.
