Punjab government implements measures to reduce bread and roti prices, aiming to alleviate financial strain on families in the region.

In a bid to alleviate financial strain on families, Punjab has recently taken steps to lower the prices of bread and roti, two staple food items in the region. The reduction in bread prices, ranging from Rs50 to Rs70, has been welcomed by consumers, with a 750-gram loaf now priced at Rs180 in Lahore. The Lahore deputy commissioner has also ensured that smaller bread sizes are capped at Rs95, ensuring affordability for all.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz further announced a decrease in roti prices to Rs14, with some districts offering even lower rates. However, challenges remain as some naanbais in Multan have not adjusted their prices, calling for stricter price regulations from the government.

These initiatives by the Punjab government aim to ease the financial burden on households, providing much-needed relief to families in the region.
