The Chief Secretary has issued a notification indicating that the holiday on the first day of Muharram will be determined based on the sighting of the moon.

The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee is set to meet on July 6 to observe the crescent of the new year. Maulana Muhammad Abdul Khabir will officially declare the start of the new Islamic year following this meeting. Zonal committee gatherings will also occur at their respective headquarters, with the Ruet Hilal Committee making the official announcement of the new year's commencement.
