Chief Minister Gandapur chairs meeting to review security arrangements for Muharram-ul-Haram, emphasizing coordination and harmony for a peaceful observance.

Recently, a crucial meeting was conducted in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to evaluate the arrangements for the upcoming month of Muharram-ul-Haram. Chaired by Chief Minister Sardar Ali Amin Khan Gandapur, the focus of the meeting was to review the security plan and other necessary measures to maintain law and order during this significant month.

Key officials, including the Chief Secretary of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the Inspector General of Police, were present at the meeting. The security plan highlighted the deployment of 40,000 security personnel across 14 districts, with additional support from FC and Pak Army to ensure a safe environment for the observance of Muharram.

Special precautions were taken for sensitive districts, such as establishing a central control room at the Home department, implementing CCTV monitoring of processions, and prohibiting arms display, pillion riding, and hateful wall chalking. The security strategy also included social media monitoring and temporary suspension of mobile phone services in critical areas.

The Chief Minister emphasized the importance of upholding law and order during Muharram. He directed the allocation of necessary funds for security, engagement with religious leaders to promote harmony, and the provision of tents along procession routes to combat the prevailing heatwave. Effective coordination among departments at all levels was underscored for the successful implementation of the security plan.

The government's primary objective is to ensure a peaceful and harmonious observance of Muharram. It calls upon religious leaders and the public to actively contribute to maintaining law and order and fostering sectarian harmony during this sacred month.
