Minister Pirzada reviews the Sky Gardens housing project, ensuring quality housing for government employees in Islamabad.
In recent developments, the Federal Minister for Housing and Works, Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada, conducted a site visit to the Sky Gardens housing project in Islamabad. This project, managed by the Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA), aims to provide quality housing for government employees and their families. The visit took place on Thursday, where the minister was accompanied by Secretary Housing and Works, Dr. Shazad Khan Bangash, along with senior officials from the ministry.
During the visit, the minister received a comprehensive briefing from the FGEHA director general. He engaged in detailed discussions with contractors regarding the progress of the ongoing infrastructural development work. The Sky Gardens project, also known as Green Enclave-II, spans an impressive 11,000 Kanals and is situated in Mauza Kathar Mengal, close to the Murree Expressway. Launched in 2019, the project faced delays due to various challenges but is now making significant strides.
The current phase of development includes essential infrastructure such as road construction, retaining boundary walls, and the establishment of water supply and sewerage systems. This work is estimated to cost around Rs 7.944 billion and is focused on blocks H, J, and K of the project. The minister emphasized that providing high-quality residential facilities is a top priority for the ministry and the FGEHA. He expressed his commitment, along with his team, to resolve any issues that have caused delays in ongoing projects.
During his address to the media, Minister Pirzada described the project site as a "paradise-like" location, surrounded by beautiful views and scenic beauty. He assured that the area would be equipped with high-quality urban housing facilities. The minister praised the contractors and workers for their dedication and hard work, urging them to expedite the project's completion.
Additionally, the minister was informed about the land sharing formula for developed plots within the scheme, which allocates 70% for residential and 45% for commercial purposes. The ongoing infrastructure activities in some blocks are expected to be completed by December this year, with all developmental work projected to finish by the end of 2026.
As part of his visit, the minister also inaugurated the Commoners Bridge and participated in a tree-planting ceremony, highlighting the importance of environmental sustainability in urban development. The Sky Gardens project represents a significant step towards enhancing housing facilities for government employees, and its successful completion will undoubtedly contribute to the overall development of the region.
The Sky Gardens housing project is not just about building homes; it is about creating a community that offers a high quality of life. With the commitment shown by the ministry and the FGEHA, residents can look forward to a well-planned and sustainable living environment that meets their needs and aspirations.
