Recently, several individuals faced the consequences of their involvement in drug smuggling activities as district and sessions courts delivered strict verdicts. Javed Akhtar Illayas, apprehended by Ganjmandi Police with 2,000 grams of hashish, received a 12-year prison sentence. In a separate incident, Ajmal Mehmood was sentenced to nine years in prison for possessing 1,420 grams of charas after a case filed at Rawat Police Station. Another individual, Muhammad Yasir, was also handed a nine-year prison term for being in possession of 1,500 grams of hashish. The court additionally imposed a fine of Rs 100,000 on Yasir, who was arrested by Morgah Police in 2023.
