Energy Minister Nasir Shah leads the implementation of solar power systems in hospitals in Sindh, aiming to reduce operational costs and promote environmental conservation.
Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, the Energy Minister of Sindh, recently visited Dow Medical Hospital (Ojha Campus) and Sindh Government Hospital Liaquatabad to oversee the solar power systems. Accompanying him were Tariq Ali Shah, the Managing Director of Tharcoal Energy board, and Mahfouz Qazi, the Director of Solar Energy.
The solar system installations at these hospitals are significant, with 2310 kW at Dow Medical Center and 245.16 kW at Sindh Government Hospital Liaquatabad. These systems are designed to operate efficiently for 25 years. Minister Nasir Shah pointed out that the 245.16 kW solar system at Sindh Government Hospital Liaquatabad is estimated to save Rs 26.7 million annually. Last year alone, this system generated an impressive 594092.81 units of electricity.
Minister Shah stressed the government's dedication to public welfare projects throughout the province, in line with Chairman Bilawal Bhutto's vision. By transitioning government buildings to solar power, the aim is to reduce the burden on the government's electricity consumption, leading to long-term benefits for both the environment and the economy.
The initiative taken by Minister Nasir Shah to implement solar power systems in hospitals not only demonstrates a commitment to sustainable energy solutions but also showcases a proactive approach towards reducing operational costs and promoting environmental conservation. Such projects play a vital role in ensuring a greener and more efficient future for Sindh's healthcare facilities and contribute to the overall well-being of the community.
