Health Experts Blame Negligence for AIDS Outbreak in Lahore

A recent health crisis has surfaced in Lahore, where 44 people have been diagnosed with AIDS following blood tests conducted at the city's major hospitals in the last month. The distribution of cases reveals that 13 cases were identified at both Mayo Hospital and Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, with 10 cases at Jinnah Hospital and seven cases at Lady Willington Hospital.

Health experts have pointed out that the spread of HIV is largely attributed to administrative negligence and incompetence. The primary mode of transmission is through the sharing of syringes among drug users, which significantly increases the risk of infection. Moreover, using unsterilized blades for shaving or haircuts, as well as unsanitary instruments for procedures like nose piercings, can also contribute to the spread of the virus.

Reusing syringes for blood transfusions is identified as a major factor in the spread of AIDS. Additionally, improper sterilization of surgical and dental equipment can result in the transfer of the infection from one person to another. These practices emphasize the critical need for strict hygiene measures in medical facilities to curb the dissemination of this deadly disease.

The recent spike in AIDS cases in Lahore underscores the urgent requirement for improved healthcare practices and heightened awareness about the risks associated with unsafe medical procedures.
