In a groundbreaking development, Kinza Bibi has made history by becoming the first woman driver of the Pink Bus Service in Sindh, Pakistan. Kinza underwent specialized training provided by the Sindh government to operate a four-wheeler, marking a significant milestone in gender equality and women's empowerment.

The training took place at Mehran Depot in Karachi, where Kinza was one of 18 drivers prepared for the women-only bus service. Recently, the Sindh government expanded the Pink Bus Service by introducing two new routes and offering complimentary rides to female passengers for a two-month period.

At a ceremony held to celebrate this achievement, Faryal Talpur, the head of the Pakistan Peoples Party women’s division, awarded driving licenses to four female drivers of the Pink Bus Service. This initiative aims to cater to the transportation needs of thousands of women along five busy routes in the region.

The Pink Bus Service not only features female drivers like Kinza but also employs women conductors, setting a powerful example of gender inclusivity and breaking stereotypes. By having women in key roles within the transportation sector, the service promotes a more diverse and empowered society.
