On May 25, 2024, a devastating road accident occurred in Jhirk, Thatta, resulting in the loss of 7 lives and leaving 20 individuals wounded. The injured were swiftly taken to Liaquat University Hospital, where immediate medical attention was provided. Two critically injured patients requiring vascular surgery were transferred to Karachi, while 14 others continued to receive care at the hospital. Additionally, four individuals were discharged after receiving initial medical treatment.

The accident involved a collision between a Suzuki mini pickup truck and a dumper truck near Jhirk. The victims, who were from village Manik Behrani, were on their way to Jamshoro district when the tragic incident occurred.
