The Pakistan Meteorological Department alerts authorities about an upcoming six-day wet spell from April 24 to 29, bringing heavy rains, thunderstorms, and strong winds. Flash floods and landslides are expected in vulnerable regions, urging farmers and tourists to take necessary precautions for safety.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued an alert to authorities as a new six-day wet spell is expected to hit various parts of the country from April 24 to 29. A westerly wave is forecasted to enter the western regions on April 24 night, gradually moving towards the upper parts by April 26.

During this weather system, several areas are likely to experience light to heavy rains, thunderstorms, and strong winds. Regions such as Noushki, Pishin, Quetta, Swat, Abbottabad, Gilgit Baltistan, and Kashmir are expected to receive significant rainfall, with some areas also anticipating hailstorms.

The PMD has warned of potential flash floods in Balochistan and the vulnerable areas of Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Murree, Galiyat, Kashmir, and Gilgit Baltistan due to heavy rainfalls. Landslides are also a concern in these regions, posing risks to human lives and infrastructure.

Farmers in wheat-harvested areas are advised to take precautions, and tourists are urged to avoid unnecessary travel during this period to ensure their safety. The PMD emphasizes the need for vigilance and preparedness to mitigate the impact of the upcoming weather conditions.
