A joint operation by PMSA and Customs intercepts a boat carrying 675kg of methamphetamine, worth $37 million, highlighting efforts to combat drug trafficking.

Recently, a significant joint operation between the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA) and the Directorate of Customs Intelligence, Karachi, led to the interception of a boat carrying a large quantity of methamphetamine, also known as 'Ice'. On May 23, the authorities successfully seized 675 kilograms of this dangerous drug hidden in various parts of the vessel.

The operation, based on intelligence inputs, resulted in the apprehension of seven crew members aboard the boat. Following the interception, the suspects along with the confiscated drugs were handed over to the Directorate of Customs Intelligence in Karachi for further legal proceedings.

The street value of the seized methamphetamine is estimated to be approximately $37 million, which is equivalent to a staggering 10 billion Pakistani rupees in the global market.
