Rao Inderjit Singh faces tough competition in Gurugram elections

The Lok Sabha elections in Gurugram have reached a crucial juncture as the campaign for the sixth phase draws to a close. Gurugram, known for its economic significance, is a focal point among the 10 parliamentary constituencies in Haryana participating in this phase. With 23 candidates competing for the Gurugram Lok Sabha seat, including notable figures like Rao Inderjit Singh, Raj Babbar, Rahul Yadav, Vijay Kumar, and Sorab Khan, the electoral landscape is vibrant and competitive.

The battle for the Gurugram Lok Sabha seat is shaping up to be a three-way contest, with incumbent Rao Inderjit Singh facing strong challenges from Raj Babbar and newcomer Rahul Yadav, a popular Haryanvi singer. Singh, a five-time winner of the Gurgaon Lok Sabha seat, is up against Babbar, who has previously served as a Lok Sabha MP thrice. This election also marks the political debut of singer Fazilpuria, adding an element of novelty to the electoral race.

With nearly 25 lakh voters in the Gurugram Lok Sabha constituency, the upcoming polling day on May 25 holds immense significance in determining the fate of the candidates. Gurugram Deputy Commissioner Nishant Kumar Yadav has announced comprehensive security measures for the polling day, with over 10,000 police personnel, including paramilitary forces, set to be deployed across all three districts. Two contingents of CAPF have already arrived in Gurugram, and approximately 7,000 trained polling staff will be on duty to oversee the electoral proceedings, ensuring a secure and efficient voting process.
