SESSI launches an awareness campaign for the Benazir Mazdoor Card, enhancing workers' access to healthcare and financial benefits in Sindh.

The Sindh Employees Social Security Institute (SESSI) has recently launched an important awareness campaign aimed at educating the workers' community about the features and benefits of the "Benazir Mazdoor Card." This initiative is a collaborative effort with the Karachi Press Club, highlighting the government's commitment to supporting workers across various sectors.

During the inaugural ceremony of this campaign, Sindh Minister for Labour and Human Resources, Shahid Abdul Salam Thaheem, emphasized the significance of the "Benazir Mazdoor Card" in providing essential medical and financial assistance to registered workers. He noted that the Sindh Government is dedicated to ensuring that workers have access to necessary healthcare services, with SESSI operating 42 dispensaries and five major hospitals. Furthermore, the government has made provisions for reimbursements for treatments received at private hospitals, ensuring that workers receive the care they need without financial burden.

In addition to these services, the minister announced the upcoming inauguration of a modern hospital in Sukkur on November 11, along with plans to commence work on a cancer hospital soon. This expansion of healthcare facilities is a testament to the government's ongoing efforts to enhance the welfare of workers and their families.

Miandad Rahujo, the Commissioner of SESSI, highlighted the various financial benefits available to registered employees, including pensions, disability pensions, and accident grants. He pointed out that thousands of patients benefited from SESSI's medical facilities in the previous year, showcasing the impact of these services on the lives of workers.

The registration process for the "Benazir Mazdoor Card" has been simplified, allowing workers to register online through the Mazdoor App and portal. This accessibility is crucial in ensuring that all eligible workers can take advantage of the benefits offered by SESSI.

Shoaib Ahmed, the Secretary of the Karachi Press Club, underscored the importance of workers' rights and the need for their thorough implementation across all sectors, including the media industry. This awareness campaign is a step in the right direction, as it not only informs workers about their rights but also empowers them to seek the benefits they are entitled to.

The "Benazir Mazdoor Card" initiative represents a significant advancement in the support system for workers in Sindh. By providing essential medical and financial assistance, the Sindh Government is taking proactive steps to improve the quality of life for workers and their families. It is crucial for workers to stay informed about these benefits and to actively participate in the registration process, ensuring they receive the support they deserve. This campaign is not just about awareness; it is about fostering a culture of rights and support for all workers in the province.
