Sindh government to launch Benazir Hari Card on October 14, aiding 298,000 farmers with financial support and resources.
KARACHI: The Sindh government is set to launch the "Benazir Hari Card" on October 14, 2024, a significant initiative aimed at providing much-needed relief to farmers across the province. This program is designed to support the agricultural community, which plays a vital role in the economy of Sindh. The launch event will take place at the Chief Minister’s House in Karachi, with simultaneous ceremonies in five other cities: Larkana, Ghotki, Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, and Shaheed Benazirabad. These events will be connected through live online streaming, ensuring that farmers from various regions can participate in this important occasion.
Sindh Minister for Agriculture, Sardar Muhammad Bux Mahar, confirmed that the Chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, will personally hand over the Benazir Hari Cards to the farmers. This gesture highlights the government's commitment to supporting the agricultural sector. The ceremony is expected to attract a large audience, including party leaders, provincial ministers, advisors, members of the assembly, and representatives from the farmers’ community.

In the first phase of this initiative, 298,000 registered farmers who own between 1 and 25 acres of agricultural land will be issued the Benazir Hari Card.
