Transgender Nurse Arrested for Kidnapping in Peshawar

PESHAWAR – In a shocking incident that has raised serious concerns about safety and trust, a transgender nurse was arrested in Peshawar, the capital city of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, for allegedly kidnapping a young girl under the false pretext of marriage. This incident highlights the vulnerabilities faced by young individuals, particularly those who may be seeking companionship or guidance through social media.

The suspect, identified as Iftikhar, reportedly befriended a madrasa student online. Using the guise of a romantic relationship, Iftikhar lured the girl to his home with promises of marriage. This deceitful act took place in October, and it was only after a complaint was lodged with the police that the girl was rescued. Authorities acted swiftly, ensuring her safety and well-being.

Upon her rescue, the police recorded the girl’s statement and subsequently transferred her to a religious institution known as Darul Uloom for further support and care. Meanwhile, an investigation into Iftikhar’s actions has been initiated, raising questions about the safety of young individuals in similar situations.

This incident is not isolated. Earlier this year, another alarming case emerged from Rawalpindi, where a girl was allegedly raped after being promised a job. The victim, who resided in a hostel, reported that a man named Afraz Satti took her to his home under the pretense of offering employment. Tragically, she was met with violence and intimidation, as two armed men were already present in the house. They threatened her life if she made any noise, leading to a horrific assault.

After the ordeal, the suspects abandoned the victim, leaving her to find her way back to the hostel in the early hours of the morning. A case was subsequently registered at the New Town Police Station in Rawalpindi, highlighting the urgent need for protective measures for vulnerable individuals.

These incidents serve as a stark reminder of the dangers that lurk in the shadows of society.
