A heartwarming event in Brussels honors the late journalist Khalid Hameed Farooqi, highlighting his dedication to journalism and support for oppressed communities, culminating in the announcement of a library dedicated to his legacy.

In a heartwarming event held in Brussels, a group of journalists, intellectuals, writers, poets, and various other personalities from different European countries gathered to honor the late Khalid Hameed Farooqi, a distinguished journalist and former bureau chief of Geo News. The ceremony, organized by the Pakistan Press Club Belgium in collaboration with the International Council for Human Development, marked the second anniversary of Farooqi's passing.

The event was divided into two sessions. The first session, themed 'Journalism and Diaspora,' was chaired by intellectual Rao Mustajab Ahmad, with chief guests including Farooqi's friend Akram Qaim Khani and Ali Raza Syed, the Patron-in-Chief of Khaled Hameed Farooqi Trust. The second session featured the introduction of two books and poetic tributes to Farooqi.

Notable figures such as Ambassador of Pakistan to Belgium and the European Union, Ms. Amna Baloch, and Press Counsellor of the Pakistan Embassy, Saghir Ahmad Watto, along with Farooqi's wife and daughter, also participated in the event, praising Farooqi's dedication to journalism and professional integrity.

Speakers highlighted Farooqi's unwavering commitment to journalistic ethics and his support for oppressed communities, particularly the Kashmiris. The event concluded with the announcement of a library in Brussels dedicated to Farooqi, housing around four hundred of his books, open to the public every Sunday.
