Residents of Lahore experienced relief from heat with light rain, but faced power outages. The Pakistan Meteorological Department predicts more rain ahead, urging caution.
Early Tuesday morning, residents of Lahore and its surrounding areas experienced a welcome change in weather as light rain and a cool breeze swept through the region. The rainfall, reported in various parts of the city including Mall Road, Lakshmi Chowk, and Johar Town, brought a sense of relief from the scorching heat.
However, the rain also led to disruptions in electricity supply as multiple feeders of the Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) tripped, leaving several areas in darkness. Neighborhoods such as Faisal Town, Garden Town, and Awan Town Wahdat Road were among those affected by the power outages.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a forecast predicting more rain in Lahore over the next 24 hours, indicating that the city may continue to experience sporadic showers. Residents are advised to take necessary precautions and stay updated on weather alerts.
The combination of light rain and cool breeze brought a temporary respite to Lahore's residents, although the accompanying power outages highlighted the city's infrastructure challenges. As the PMD forecasts additional rainfall, it is essential for authorities to address the issues of electricity disruptions to ensure the well-being of the population.
