The Punjab government has approved the construction of new police check posts at two vital entry points from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) into Punjab. These check posts, located in the Attock district, will undergo significant upgrades to bolster security measures. The first check post, to be situated at Attock Khurd in Hazro Tehsil, is estimated to cost Rs259.527 million. The second check post near Khushal Garh in Jand Tehsil will require an approximate investment of Rs259.725 million.

The Rawalpindi Division Commissioner has initiated the tender process for the construction of these check posts, with a deadline of June 5. The contract award is expected by June 15. The new check posts will feature advanced security equipment such as high-speed searchlights, closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras, barriers, and toll plaza-style structures. Rigorous security checks will be conducted on motorists traveling between K-P and Punjab. In addition to regular police officers, personnel from the Punjab Special Branch and the Anti-Narcotics Force will be stationed at these check posts.

The establishment of these new police check posts underscores the Punjab government's commitment to enhancing security measures at key entry points. The upgraded facilities and increased presence of security personnel aim to ensure safer travel for individuals crossing between K-P and Punjab, contributing to overall public safety and security in the region.
